Traditional biannual FEFCO’s Technical Seminar was held in Messe Congress Center in Vienna
As usual, Corrugated Industry international magazine became media partner of this significant event in the corrugated world. It is interesting to note that, if two years ago digital technologies completely prevailed in the subject of the seminar, this time the range of matters under discussion was wider. So, a lot of attention was paid not to some absolutely innovative machines, but to improvements and new solutions for eliminating bottlenecks at all stages of corrugated and packaging production. Production optimization, speed increasing, downtimes reducing, guarantee 100% quality of manufactured products and protection of enterprise employees, reducing the impact of production on the environment and search for best solutions to meet tougher EU regulations – these achievable goals for the next two years were announced.
Jan Klingele, FEFCO president, noticed significant changes our industry lives through right now. He said that we need to react to customers demands changes faster, better and safer.
During the Seminar where discussed such important topics as:
Customer requirements and their impact on the corrugated industry;
Suppliers vision for technical innovations;
A product quality benchmark;
Challenges, opportunities and limitations of big data;
Critical view of Industry 4.0;
How do EU policies affect the corrugated industry;
Paper engineering for increased packaging requirements;
Markets and industry trends and many other.
Also at the end of the three-day Technical Seminar FEFCO Production Committee handed out eight awards in different categories.
For the first time this year FEFCO has presented awards to managers from the industry in recognition of their lifelong commitment to driving forward technical developments within the corrugated industry.
In main category Best Innovation there were two winners.
