Fachpack 2016: Zünd presents latest solutions in digital cutting
At Fachpack 2016, September 27 – 29, in Nürnberg, Zünd presents its latest digital cutting solutions. In Hall 7A, booth 106, the focus is on the new D3 dual-beam cutting system capable of dramatically increasing productivity in a variety of packaging applications.
At Fachpack 2016 in Nürnberg, Zünd presents digital cutting solutions designed to help packaging providers increase production while simultaneously reducing personnel costs. With the new D3, Zünd introduces a cutting system that sets new standards in productivity for samplemaking and shorter runs. With the addition of a second, independently operating beam, this revolutionary new system is capable of delivering up to twice the throughput of a standard, single-beam system such as G3. Each of the two beams can be equipped with up to 3 different modules and tools for cutting, creasing, perforating, or routing operations without the need for a tool change. Because of the modular design concept on which the system is based, a D3 can be reconfigured and upgraded any time to adjust to changing requirements. New tools, modules, or automated material-handling options for loading and unloading can easily be integrated in an existing cutting system and production workflow. For this reason, D3 represents an excellent, fail-safe investment and, in addition to its inherent increases in overall productivity, is guaranteed to provide both an excellent ROI and outstanding value retention. Superior performance characteristics and extraordinary flexibility make D3 the perfect solution for mass customization on an industrial scale.
The availability of an intelligent digital workflow and user-friendly interface is paramount to efficient, optimized production with the shortest possible time to market. Zünd Cut Center – ZCC is a powerful, intuitive software suite that functions as virtual control center for the entire digital finishing process. With such new features as the creation of creasing counters in Cut Editor or batch processing via barcode scan, ZCC now offers even greater flexibility and ease of use.
With innovative automation solutions, the Swiss digital cutting system manufacturer has further perfected its range of modular material-handling options available for both material loading and offloading. Another highlight at the Zünd booth is the new collaborative robot. Shown in conjunction with a Zünd S3 M-800, the robotic off-load device automatically picks up cut parts from the machine and stacks them at predefined locations. This type of system is designed to operate autonomously in production environments in which the human operator and robot are working together to accomplish a task. The fully automated production workflow also involves automatic job retrieval via QR-code. An integrated camera captures the QR-code printed with each job, which enables Zünd Cut Center – ZCC to automatically retrieve the matching cut file. Furthermore, the ZCC system automatically determines the exact location and orientation of the graphics, and in case of distortions in material or print, automatically makes the necessary adjustments to the cut path.
With a double-beam system, the Zünd D3 cutter is setting new standards in precision and performance.
