Roberto Baviera, President and Founder of Baviera Steam Systems at the exhibition CCE International:
Our company was founded more than 30 years ago. I personally began this company in 1980 with my father and my uncle. At the beginning we were small company and for now we have 50 people working at Baviera Steam Systems, in Valencia, Spain. We are steam systems supplier for corrugated industry. Sometimes we make steam systems outside of corrugated industry, but it is not more than 5% of our total production. When we began the main aim of the company was to make energy saving for the corrugating plants. So we developed closed loop systems which allowed saving 20-25% energy. First 5 years from 1980 to 1985 we were working mainly with Spanish companies, making the closed loop for energy savings. Later we’ve learned that stem systems interesting not only for energy saving but also for better heat transfer, better control, which gives more flexibility, they gives more tools to get better quality and efficiency and reduce waste. Then we began to focus more on the direction how to get from your corrugator the best results. From the very beginning we start to collaborate with OEMs.
Because of this collaboration we opened new markets for us and our company is now working all over the world. But I can say our main market is, of course, Europe – from Portugal to Russia. Our second market is America, mainly the Spanish speaking America. Little bit less in North America, but we have plans to increase our presence at this market in the next years. Our third market is North & South Africa and Arabic countries. In Asia our presence is not so big, but we have 3-4 installations in Asia per year and we are increasing our presence year after year.
We have two typical activities:
Our first activity is visits of existing corrugators, where we can see and understand the problems, understand how we can improve the system to bring benefits to the manufacturers.
We see all the parts where steam can help manufacturer. We propose optimization of the plant and then produce and install our systems.
Second activity is focused on Greenfield projects. Production of our systems for brand new corrugators.
In Russia we work with Technoprofil company and we are very happy with them.
