First in Russia BOBST DRO 1628 NT RS line was installed at Aleksinskaya PBM
On September 4, the first stage of a new production line for the production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging was launched at the Aleksinskaya Paper and Board Mill (part of the SFT Group).
A multi-billion investment project with state support helped revive a factory that was going through difficult times and in just a couple of years turn it into a large modern automated enterprise that meets European standards. Currently, the first stage of new production for production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging with a total capacity of about 170 million m2 has started and preparations are underway for the next phase of the project, which will increase capacity to 310 million m2.
The factory created a full-cycle production with state-of-the-art equipment.
BOBST contributed to this project by installing first in Russia BOBST DRO 1628 NT RS line with rotary die-cutting and four flexoprinting units with the possibility of expanding to six. The unique line concept provides exceptionally convenient ergonomics and easy operator access to printing sections and to all major units from the floor level. Excellent register provides non-stop vacuum transportation of sheets. The rotary design of the die-cutting section allows for full cutting in a line at a speed of 7,5 to 10 thousand sheets / hour, depending on the color and complexity of the work.

At the same time, we paid our attention not so much to the quality of equipment and product characteristics – they are certainly at a high level – but to the level of service. We already had a pleasant experience working with BOBST after installing the BOBST FFG 8.20 Expertline at Kartontara in Maykop, by the way, also first in Russia. The supplier reacted adequately and quickly to all arising working moments: technical support, dispatch of specialists, replacement of components and parts. This allowed us to expect that the level of service for rotary die-cutter would also be more than worthy, ” – says Roman Steinberg, Investment Director of SFT Group.
The company plans to produce a wide range of different types of high quality packaging solutions: RRP and SRP packaging, shipping containers, boxes for online trading, individual packaging solutions. Production will be delivered to Tula, Moscow, Kaluga, Voronezh regions and neighboring countries.
