Paper mill will start work in Almaty by the end of the year
According to the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development (MIIR), reconstruction of production facilities is currently underway.
"The launch of the project is scheduled on December 2019. The mill is being built in Almaty. The project cost is 2.4 billion tenge (near 5 million USD)" – explained at the department.
The company will produce 70 thousand tons of paper products per year. They plan to export it to the countries of Central Asia. A total of 60 jobs will be created.
MIIR noted that the launch of the project will reduce dependence on Russian raw materials by 70%.
Earlier it was reported that the Chinese investor Qifeng New Material wants to build a plant for the production of pulp and paper from reeds. According to Kazakh Invest, the foreign company plans to gradually invest $ 320 million in the project.
